47th Boskone Convention Announces February 2010 Dates and Hotel Information

The New England Science Fiction Association's Boskone will feature author Alastair Reynolds, artist John Picacio, and Tolkien expert Tom Shippey

Boston, MA (September 2009) -- The New England Science Fiction Association, Inc. (NESFA) will hold its 47th Boskone science fiction convention at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in South Boston, MA on February 12-14, 2010. Detailed information is available at www.Boskone.org.

Boskone is a regional science fiction convention focusing on literature, and including many program items on art, science, music, media topics, and gaming (that's wicked awesome). Boskone features exciting exhibits, inspiring events and an acclaimed program that encourages members to interact with an impressive array of well-known participants in the field. Our innovative no-boundaries layout is designed to stimulate conversation between friends (old and new), and support the warm family-friendly community.

The Guest of Honor at Boskone 47 is best-selling author Alastair Reynolds. Official Artist is award-winning John Picacio. Special Guest is Tom Shippey.

Boskone activities begin in the afternoon on Friday, February 12 and end in the early evening on Sunday, February 14. Full Memberships cost $47 through mid-January 2010. At-door rates will be higher.

Convention Chair, Jim Mann, invites the public to check out all that Boskone has to offer: "Boskone has a great mix. It's got a literary focus, but we also have lots else, ranging from interesting programs on media, fandom, as well as fun activities like our Friday night event, our Art Show reception, and our awards ceremony. Boskone is a good place for people of all ages to enjoy themselves and to interact with people of similar interests."
