SHARDS OF HONOR by Lois McMaster Bujold

NESFA Press is proud to announce the reprinting of Shards of Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold, edited by Suford Lewis. This book has been out of stock for a few months while it was being re-typeset.

Shards of Honor introduces Cordelia Naismith, the captain of a Betan Astronomical Survey ship, now stranded in a war zone's wilderness during what was supposed to have been a routine exploration. She soon finds herself the captive of the infamous "Butcher of Komarr," the Barrayaran Captain Lord Aral Vorkosigan, who has himself been stranded by mutineers. Together they set off on a days-long trek in the hopes of returning to civilization.

But this trek is only the beginning of Cordelia and Vorkosigan's journey, and even as they start to see each other beyond preconceived stereotypes, they must also deal with political threats from all sides...

In Shards of Honor, Lois McMaster Bujold introduces the universe of her Vorkosigan saga — with all the space opera adventure and romance which characterize the books in this popular, award-winning series.

Lois McMaster Bujold is one of today's most acclaimed science fiction and fantasy writers. She has won five Hugo Awards, including a record four for Best Novel, and three Nebula Awards. While well known for her space opera, Bujold has also written the award-winning Chalion and The Sharing Knife fantasy series.

David A. Cherry, who created the jacket painting, is a multiple Chesley Award winner, whose work has graced book covers for Terry Pratchett, Judith Tarr, David Brin, and Poul Anderson. His art book, Imagination: The Art and Technique of David Cherry, was nominated for the Hugo Award in 1988.
