A book review by Elisabeth Carey
This is the third and last volume of the long novel, The Book of the Short Sun. In the course of it we see the narrator's journey through the Whorl, and his departure for Green and the remainder of his journey to Lizard Island. The narrator learns, somewhat painfully, what Oreb has been telling him all along, and what the observant reader has known for certain since the end of In Green's Jungles, and suspected perhaps as far back as the narrator's account of his time in Gaon. This is a fitting conclusion to the story, and I enjoyed it very much.
