Guest of Honor

Orson Scott Card

Orson Scott Card is one of the most renowned sf writers of this generation. Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead (which won back-to-back Hugo Awards), the "Tales of Alvin Maker" sequence, The Memory of Earth, and most recently, the "Woman of Genesis" series, have each made a significant impact on the field of science fiction. 'Nuff said.

Official Artist

Alan Pollack

Alan Pollack's artwork is characterized by vivid images, realistic people, and thought-provoking subjects. In addition to his illustrious career at TSR, he's also done many sf and fantasy covers for HarperCollins, Bantam, and Berkeley Publishing.

Special Guest

Mike Glyer

Mike Glyer is a well-known West Coast fan. He was the Chairman of LACon III, the 54th Woldcon, and, in his spare time, he is the editor of the Hugo-winning publication, File 770.

Featured Filkers

Urban Tapestry

Urban Tapestry is a Toronto-based filk/folk trio whose music has been described as "filk and folk music with a quirky twist." That "quirky twist" tends to be the liberal use of media, and science fiction and fantasy themes in both their humorous and serious songs.

Hal Clement Memorial Science Speaker

Alastair Reynolds

In memory of our beloved friend, the late Hal Clement, NESFA will bring a science speaker to Boskone each year. This Boskone's Hal Clement Memorial Speaker will be Alastair Reynolds.

NESFA Press Sponsored Writer

Frederik Pohl

As a special service to Boskone's membership, NESFA Press has sponsored the attendance of Frederik Pohl at Boskone. Mr. Pohl has been a sf writer, editor, and agent since the 1930s. He's been there and done that in sf fandom and prodom. Multi-Hugo Award winner, and interesting person, he has also written the introduction to the new Judith Merril collection debuting at Boskone.

Boskone is a registered service mark of the New England Science Fiction Association, Inc.
