Guest of Honor

Neil Gaiman

has been writing fantasy for 20 years, in books, TV, comics, and short stories. He wrote Neverwhere, a six-part series for BBC-TV that was his later basis for his novel of the same name. He is the award-winning writer of Sandman comic book series from DC Comics. Issue #19 of Sandman, which retells A Midsummer Night's Dream, won the World Fantasy Award for best short story in 1991. Among the books he has done is a children's book, The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish.

Neil's latest novel is American Gods, which has already received high praise.

Official Artist

Stephen Hickman

has worked in a number of areas of illustration, from book covers to film character design. His book covers number around 300. He lists as influences J.R.R. Tolkein, H.P. Lovecraft, A. Merritt, Edgar Rice Burroughs and Clark Ashton Smith. Also an author, his first novel is The Lemurian Stone.

Stephen has won numerous awards for his work, including several Chesleys and the 1994 Hugo Award for his space fantasy postage stamp set.

Special Guest

Marv Wolfman

has worked in many areas of fantasy and science fiction, and also in educational materials. He is co-executive producer and co-writer of the upcoming Elfquest feature film. With Craig Miller he founded Wolfmill Entertainment and created the Pocket Dragons animated TV series. He has written novels, children's books, and comic strips. He has written and edited many comic books, and served as Senior Editor at DC Comics and Editor-in-Chief at Marvel Comics.

Marv's works have won numerous awards. His 12-part comic book series, Crisis on Infinite Earths, was named the second most important comic book series of the 20th Century by Comics Buyer's Guide.

Featured Filker

Tom Holt

has written a number of filk songs, many of them wry parodies. His book, Bitter Lemmings, is a compilation of his filk songs.

Tom worked as a solicitor for several years before turning to writing full-time. He has written over 20 books; some are historical books but most are humorous fantasy novels, including Expecting Someone Taller and Who's Afraid of Beowulf? His latest novel is Nothing But Blue Skies.

Update 01/28/02 Tom finds himself unable to attend Boskone 39, to his (and our) dismay. We'll continue with our Tom Holtian plans, among which is a concert of Tom Holt filk songs performed by filkers.
