coverThe Avram Davidson Treasury

by Avram Davidson (edited by Robert Silverberg and Grania Davis)

A book review by Mark L. Olson

Tor, 1998, 447 pp. , $27.95

Avram Davidson unique voice can be heard through this wonderful, thick volume of the best of his shorter fiction. It includes my personal favorites "The Golem," "Or All the Seas with Oysters," and "Revenge of the Cat-Lady" and thirty-five other stories, each introduced by a different person. It's a pity that space did not also permit the inclusion of more than one of his Dr. Eszterhazy stories, nor any of his "Adventures in Unhistory" -- essays of marvelous erudition, but how can one book contain Avram Davidson?
